More sketchy work with PageMaps...

The next sketch I worked on for the 7th anniversary of PageMaps asked you to use borders.  I used some sticker borders, sticker tags, and paper to create my borders.  I love the new summer line by Simple Stories and since that was the prize, I definitely had to jump in on this challenge!

The sketch...

And what I did with it...

I used a mix of Simple Stories 24/7 and Urban Traveler that was in my June Memorable Seasons DT kit.

And since I was on a roll, I also saw this sketch on My Mind's Eye blog and totally fell in love with the sketch.  I figured I'd use it someday, but that someday happened when I was printing out pictures and saw this other picture of Pooh Bear with all the kids, I knew it was perfect!

The sketch...

Ronda Palazzari MME May Sketch

And my interpretation using the MME Boy Crazy line which I LOVE!!!

Instead of the squares I loved this patterned paper so I grabbed my circle punches and punched away.  I also used the chevron paper in the Boy Crazy line in place of the sewn lines, it just seemed like the circles needed some direction.  Otherwise I kept the sketch pretty similar b/c I was in love with it.  I've got to say letting someone else do the thinking and just playing with the paper was a lot of fun and takes a lot less time! LOL

I will be back with some Bella projects, my June Memorable Seasons DT kit and the newest issue of PaperHaus... stay tuned!

Sketch time!

Yep, I am playing with sketches yet again.  Hard to believe I know, but Page Maps is celebrating 7 years and has some awesome prizes so I thought I might play along!  :)

Here is one I created with some new goodies for a Cherry on Top - Cameron collection by Elles Studio.  Let's just say this collection is perfect for my boys and the beautiful blues that seem to permeate FL!

The sketch...

And what I created...

I mixed this line with a piece of Studio Calico and the everyday sticker from Jillibean, plus my favorite wood veneers from Studio Calico.

The next sketch was given by Fancy Pants and you needed to make a boy or a girl layout.  I had just gotten a hold of the lovely Down by the Shore line so I decided to scrap these pictures of my boys at the beach.

The Sketch...

What I did with it...

I chose to rotate the sketch 90*s so that I could use my horizontal picture I had.  In place of the flowers for this page I chose to use stars, both the Studio Calico wood veneers and my favorite Martha Stewart all over punch.  I also used a Silhouette file from Pink Paislee.  Our little Gino had never been to the beach and he had such a good time, I asked the kids to get together so I could get a picture and he gave me this look and yelled CHEESE!  Gotta love that kid!

Thanks for stopping by, I have another few to show you tomorrow once the sun comes back up!

She

She amazes me so often and drives me nuts most of the time too!  :)  I saw this picture of my daughter and had to use this piece of American Crafts that I had been hoarding for the perfect moment.  I also used some of the great techniques that I have been playing with since taking a class at Studio Calico - this is the first class I've taken there and while it isn't new info to me, I am really enjoying playing in new ways or maybe giving myself the freedom to play!

Here is the layout I created of my daughter, She Dances

Here's a few more I created while playing and some of my SC kits that I have...

Thanks for stopping by, I have some more to show, but that will have to wait, kids are calling!

Life is Good

It has been a long time since I've been able to say that about our life, but I can finally say I look forward to getting up in the morning.  We've had a lot of changes in our life over the past month - and they didn't come easily to put it mildly; anything that could go wrong has, but things are finally leveling out.

One of the changes in our life is a move from SW VA to Florida!  Yep, quite a switch and it all occurred in about 2 weeks time.  I never thought about moving to FL, I mean they have alligators, humidity and heat, but instead I feel like I am a brand new person, totally set free to fly.

Kids and I are enjoying the playground and pool in the neighborhood we live in, we've gone out once a week to shop (yep, I'm driving again) and enjoying the new take on life we have.  We are in a smaller home so a lot of our stuff had to go (or is waiting to go in the garage), which is hard, but when you get adjusted with things you really do want and need in place it is a very freeing feeling.

Here are some layouts I created using this new minimal approach in scrapbooking.  I made these when we first arrived - I had my kit, some inks, my masks, trimmer, adhesive and dies (no clue why they showed up first) and I found that creating takes on a whole new appeal - I just created and enjoyed the process with nothing cluttering that up.

The next layout is made for a challenge I issued at Memorable Seasons to use an old fashioned crankin die cutter machine - my Big Shot arrived first on the table I set up to scrap with so I pulled out some of my Cuttlebug dies and went for it and I love it!

Here is another layout I created with my May kit - Fancy Pants Park Bench, I wanted to use the group of stickers I received and I love to fussy cut pieces from my papers.  I actually assembled the layout before looking for a picture, when I saw this picture my daughter took of herself with my phone and edited I knew it was perfect.

Thanks for stopping by, we are off to Disney World tomorrow another perk of living in FL and can't wait!

I've been playing

along at Studio Calico's NSD celebration!  They have a ton of challenges going on so I tried out a few today...

I went with the sketch challenge #3 show here, and used my April MS kit, Crate DIY to create this...

I also worked on the number challenge seeing that I had Gino's birthday pictures sitting right on my table!

I also had to try out Jean's ombre challenge that she issued at Memorable Seasons and created this...

I have a few more sitting out ready to go, but we will see if I have any time tomorrow...

Almost 36!

When we were asked to do a layout about us I figured since my birthday was just around the corner and we had just experienced some life changes what better time to document these things.   I chose to use my favorite colors right now pinks, turquoise, and yellow (a new thing for me).  I also love flowers, chevrons, and presents so those things also inspired my choices for this layout.  I had my daughter snap these pictures of my hubby and I on our beach which we visited one night after dinner with the kids.

Engaged at Last!:  Bachelorette Party, Bachelorette Extras, Bridal Shower, Alpha+Bits Bachelor-ette
Freestyle Sophisticates:  Banana
Crochet Hearts:  Cotton Candy

Don't forget to stop by the Bella blog, not only for the NSD activities, but also for the box sale that is going on now!!!

Monochromatic Layouts = Fun!

Come join us at Memorable Seasons as we just kicked off our first challenge for our Color Your World Crop!  I issued the first challenge of the 6 total and I challenged our members to go monochromatic, BUT...  with a pop of color!  I don't normally do monochromatic, actually I think I've only done one previous to this, but it just seemed to go with my kit.

I received Fancy Pants Park Bench with a little bit of Etcetera thrown in and I loved the turquoise and yellows, but how better to make them pop, then on a neutral background???

Here is what I created...

Course I guess I could let you in on a little secret, we just moved and I had no clue where most of my scrapping goods were, but I NEEDED to scrap.  So when I received my kit I just went for it.  I found my ink pads and gesso and my Big Shot and just created.  It was so fun to create with such a limited amount of goods, yes I LOVE all of my scrapping products/tools, but it was so quick and refreshing to just create for fun.  You should try it sometime and see what kind of scrapping you do!  I will be back with a few more layouts that I made from this kit next week.
