So Tired, again!

Today mostly saw the kids vegging and mommy doing lesson plans, tests and quizzes for the next two weeks and of course the never ending laundry. Daddy found all of our clothes and put them in the new storage area we rented, tomorrow we will run by later in the day to get everything labeled and stacked so I can find things. He also spent some time cleaning out the footers so that hopefully we can pour them this coming week (as long as rain and snow stay away). Today, Marc spent a lot of the morning chatting on his phone. I love hearing him tell the phone his name is "Marcky" and then a few minutes later he will say Marciano - I can't think of the way he says it so I'll have to write it down next time. Okay I got it - Marckyano! It is funny, he is really growing up in the past few weeks and he is very good at expressing himself, but now that he has so many words he actually is adding in baby talk. Go figure! Oh well, I know that will end soon and he'll tell mommy much more than I want to hear. Got to run, I've not been doing great at getting up in the morning anymore and tomorrow is church.

Love to visit

This is a place I love to visit; the forums are very friendly and the gallery is busy but not overwhelmingly so. Right now, I am playing along in a contest called the biggest loser which is where we are supposed to us up our existing stash - which most scrapbookers have! Come take a look. http://scrapbookdeals4u.com/
Here is my layout for this week using scraps, stickers, embossing, a stamp, chalk/paint, punch, buttons, ribbon, and stitching.

Another restful day

Well today brought a 2hr delay (not sure what for), but again I took full advantage of it. I actually took the day off - told my students to do the reviews and we will go over them tomorrow. The boys stayed home and were a little wild, but Bug went to school for the whole day. I'm ready to venture out again tomorrow, although I don't think I have a choice - weather wise. I finished up my 3rd Christmas layout today and it really turned out great. I also finished a project from the past Scrap Etc. Paid bills, straightened out an insurance issue, finished making the tests for my classes and made dinner. Quite a day for me! Hopefully tonight will be a restful night and Marc will sleep straight through. I am really missing my soft king bed at this point - between Marc, small bed, no fan to keep me cool, and a hard matress, nighttime is my least favorite time of the day. Nothing really special today, I actually didn't even take a picture of today - it was just an everyday so I will use a picture of what everyday things we use. Maybe tomorrow will have more sparkle although I'm fine with a few days of calm!

A "Snowy" Day

Actually, there was no snow to be seen, or even ice, but we managed a day off. Every school in the area was closed due to the possible snow/ice, but instead it was about 38 and rained. Tomorrow morning might be a delay if it gets cold tonight, but that was the extent of our winter weather. I did really enjoy the day off, so thank you! I enjoyed scrapping today and completed two Christmas layouts from this year! No I am not that caught up, but nothing else was catching my fancy. I've got one more laid out so hopefully I can finish it tomorrow some time. We enjoyed another family night b/c worship practice was cancelled. We made homemade pizzas (kids actually ate everything) and watched a little of Mrs. Doubtfire. After watching RV last night this wasn't as much of a hit, but at least we were together. I am quite pleased having made 2 dinners in a row and dessert both nights. Tonight was muddy buddies for Bruiser - enjoy! My angel food cake with Seven Minute icing from last night is perfect; the icing is just the right firmness yet not as bad as Grammy Browns sheets that would fall off when cutting a piece of cake. I am feeling quite tired after being on my feet all day, so I am going to try to finish folding 1 load of laundry and then head to bed. Maybe we will be a little late tomorrow so I can sleep a little more.

Restful Day

Okay, we took the Lord's day litterly today, we slept! After church we had lunch together, and put everyone down for a nap. Mike and I also laid down and I slept for 3 hours - whose ever heard of such a thing! I feel good for the first time in months, now maybe I should start heading to bed a little earlier each night to continue this feeling. Marc's lip is looking much better, still quite gross, but at least the bleeding has stopped and the lip has closed up. Now Marc is playing up that he can't eat b/c it hurts his lip - he has been eating his "tractors" constantly. Marc is also learning to do "bubbles" in the potty right now, I can't believe my little one is becoming a big boy! Isn't it funny how one grows up right when the next is coming, I guess the Lord knows that transition is coming and he helps the little one become the big one. We are watching RV right now, the kids are still up watching and I'm not sure that this is going to work. We will see what this is about.

Poor little Marc

We had a pretty good day today, and then Marc split his little lip open. After calling cousin Julie, we decided not to take him to get stitches, but it looks bad. His little teeth went into his bottom lip and man can a lip bleed. I had to take care of him on the floor b/c I started getting woozy. He seems okay, but he keeps crying that his lip hurts. Hopefully tomorrow it will look much better. Flashback to Friday, we went out to Macados with the Dahirs and had a really nice time. Holly watched the kids and they had a wonderful time too. I am really thankful for our babysitter! Plus, Mike was able to sell two of the vehicles today - school bus and Daisy, so the new and bigger school bus is now paid for. Little blessings/miracles seem to keep popping up - I am very thankful for this!

Mom's Day Out - Or In

Today church had a Mom's Day Out from 9-11am, so the older kids went to school and Marc went to church. I had my first 2 hours alone in quite some time, I had a great time. I actually finished 3 pages today and they turned out really nice. I feel quite refreshed and we topped it off with Mall pizza bought with my gift card from Pathway. The kids are snuggled together on the sofa right now watching Bob, from the looks of them they've had enough for the week and could also use some rest! I love how they do everything together from being really loud and playing to resting together - in everything they are the best of friends. I cleaned up all my scrap supplies so now maybe I can focus on the 3 loads of laundry that are waiting to be folded and the other that will join the pile in just a few minutes. I'm thinking we need a commercial size washer/dryer when the house is built, our laundry is multiplying like rabbits!

Settlement

We actually had settlement today for our construction loan, just 3 months after filling out the paperwork. It went well and the process makes sense so we should be okay now. It will take a few days for the paperwork to be finalized, but I am hoping to have a basement very soon instead of a hole. Now, we have at most 15 weeks until baby should be arriving, I wonder if we can have a miracle to make this happen? I believe in the impossible b/c I serve a God that can handle anything!

44th President

Well as of a few minutes after noon we have a new president, the 44th president of the US. Tracy was at school watching with her class, the boys and I were home having lunch and watching, Mike was at the lodge watching; so we all watched history being made. We woke to Dunkin Donuts this am as Daddy was doing airport runs for the conference this past weekend. Then later today, Daddy brought home an expedition - maroon with tan the old style I wanted. Big day for us, tomorrow brings settlement for the construction loan. We found out today that we had to self fund the loan, only what we've shoveled out will be loaned back to us. So we will see what tomorrow brings, I can say this tomorrow and the transactions are being bathed in prayer so that we use wisdom and do what the Lord has planned for us.

Not like I planned

I should be used to that line, it seems to be the story of my life! Our day as a family had a few others involved as we woke up to about an 1" of snow, which of course meant Mike had to go shovel and salt sidewalks. That didn't last too long, but then the electrician showed up and out he went again. We finally left the apartment at 11, but then didn't really have a game plan. My only hope for the day was Dunkin Donuts, but we never made it. We tried 5 fat guys (burger place in Blacksburg) for lunch which had a great hot dog and then I was tired and it was nap time. Mike dropped the kids and I off at home to get naps while he went and got groceries. By the time everyone was done napping and Daddy made it home, it just seemed to late to get donuts. I think donuts is a Saturday thing - it really just seemed like too much of a hassle, especially when it was really just to get a smoothie! I did manage to finish up my lesson plans for the next 2 weeks which will make things easier for school. The weather is calling for snow again tonight/tomorrow so we will see what happens with that. Supposedly Friday is going to be 50s again; what a change from the kids playing in the snow today.

Sunday rush

Those days you dread, the ones you have so much to accomplish and not things you want to actually do - well that was today. But, it turned out to be a really nice day. So many times in life we dread things, but if we really believe that the Lord is in control of everything we don't need to dread or even worry b/c we are the ones turning things bad, the Lord has good plans for us (Jer 29:11). Sundays are always hard days for us; early mornings, practice, church and then after the rush then we hit, what do we do now? Today we made it through the Sunday rush, but then had a birthday party to attend, Samuel turned 1 today, it was nice visiting with our friends away from the rush of schedules. Once we left the party, we drove around and looked at houses and trucks, and got Mommy a Dr. Pepper from Wendy's. We arrived back at church at 5:30 for the Worship Night - pretty much everyone wasn't able to come, but it was a really good service with just a few. There was a lot more freedom than a Sunday morning service; quiet and intimate, just what many of us needed - will help us perservere even when things aren't going the way we hoped. Tomorrow Daddy promised to stay home with us and we are looking forward to a nice family day. We will see if that actually happens!

It is cold!

How does 1 below 0 sound? Supposedly we hit that last night and even got to 6 below 0, crazy weather! Most things here on campus froze and so Mike has spent most of the day getting everything working again. I do hope that someday we will be a normal family again without everyone else dictating our every breath. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Kabuki's tonight, even took a chance and brought the kids. They didn't freak out when the fire shot up (although they were sitting almost on top of me) and enjoyed eating with their chopsticks. Anthony decided he likes shrimp, a lot, Marc likes the rice, and Tracy ate salad and steak. Quite a nice dinner, I enjoy the food there so much.
I am quite worn out with the day so I am heading to bed. Wonder what the weather will be tomorrow?

The end of the week

I feel so good today, I'd almost be worried if it was near the end of my pregnancy b/c it is that surge of energy you get! :) Midterms are done and we have no school on Monday - that is reason to rejoice, now to get rested up! I actually made dinner for tonight (bread and dessert also). I wish I had a scrap magazine around, that sounds like a nice treat; that and a strawberry smoothie from Baskin Robbins. It is way to cold to think about heading out to get our mail or my smoothie, but it sure sounds good. I forgot I also have to fold another load of laundry and get Tracy done her schoolwork. But then we will relax. I forgot to post yesterday, but I was completely engrossed in finding a solution for the upstairs of our house - I finally got it and have a beautiful to scale drawing to show for all my hard work. I can't wait to really see the house and to finally walk through our dreams of all these years.

Feeling good today!

Today had quite a few good things about it, actually a lot of good things. That was nice for a change! Today, I had the day off and the 2 older kids went to school so I got to scrap some. Quite refreshing and relaxing - I think I will be taking a day each week for me maybe I can keep going that way. I scrapped a page for SD4U's biggest loser challenge, we needed to use brads, buttons, ribbons, number stickers, stickles, and 5 patterned papers - I got everything on and I think it looks really nice. I actually found a combo of paper to use for baby announcements so time to plan that next. Today, we had our 2nd ultrasound. Everything is fine with the baby which was quite a relief. At the moment I am still facing an ultrasound at 36 weeks due to a complete placenta previa. I'm okay with this now, it has taken me awhile to come to grips with anything being wrong with my pregnancy, but I'm okay now. Today, we recieved news that we will be going to settlement for the construction loan next week. Finally our house might actually be happening; this is a miracle! Told you it was a good day! Today, Anthony lost his first tooth. It is hard to believe my little boy is old enough to have holes in his mouth. I can't wait to see what his big boy teeth look like - his baby ones are soooo tiny! Daddy took him to Walmart right away to get his prize, he decided to come home with a VSmile Car cartridge and is quite pleased with himself. He keeps running his tongue around his mouth, he is quite intrigued with his hole.
So, what will tomorrow bring???

On my way with Project 365!

I just wanted to post this blog site before I forget http://senovia1.blogspot.com/search/label/365. She has a template to download that is perfect for this project. Now to figure out Photoshop and add my photos from the past 2 weeks of this project. Thanks again for the help! Today is our busy day and all I want to do is crash I am soooo tired! I woke up with Marc last night and then didn't fall back asleep for almost 2 more hours. I REALLY miss our king bed, someday hopefully we will have all the comforts of home again. We have to head out the door in less than an hour to head to Tracy's dance class, then find some dinner that everyone agrees to and finally worship practice back here on campus at 7pm. Thank goodness I don't have to teach tomorrow - tomorrow starts midterms and I don't have any scheduled until Thursday! I still have to take a picture for today, maybe I will get a shot of dance class, hopefully I don't forget!

The First Post!

I can't believe I just set up a blog! 2009 looks to be quite a technical year for me - first I decided to get active on Facebook and now a blog, wow! I decided to set up a blog because I am attempting to join the many others involved in the Project 365 - documenting our everyday. I am expecting 2009 to be quite a year for my family and myself so I want to make sure not to forget anything that happens this year. So - what else has today brought? Well in the kids world, they got Daddy to tape Movie Time Monday for them, The Three Musketeers and are now watching the movie for the 2nd time today. I love our new DVD/VCR player b/c it allows us to tape to either DVDs or VCRs and we can tape VCRs to DVDs - now we just have to keep the kids from touching the machine and putting "footprints" on the new machine!
